Barzah Capital partners with Qatar Financial Centre's Digital Assets Lab to develop real estate tokenization model
Qatar's Barzah Capital has teamed up with the Qatar Financial Centre's Digital Assets Lab to develop and test its real estate tokenization model, Qatar's state news agency QNA reported.
The company, led by real estate experts, aims to represent property assets as digital tokens, enabling investors to acquire fractional interests in real estate, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said in a statement.
Barzah Capital, a 2025 graduate of the Qatar FinTech Hub Pre-Acceleration programme and a portfolio company of Qatar Development Bank, will work with QFC to explore regulatory pathways and engage with ecosystem partners. This collaboration will help refine its infrastructure and better respond to market needs.
The partnership is significant as real estate is considered one of the most promising asset classes for tokenization in Qatar, potentially creating new investment opportunities and enhancing liquidity and transparency.
QFC's Chief Executive Officer, Mansoor Rashid Al Khater, welcomed Barzah Capital to the Digital Assets Lab, highlighting tokenization's potential to reshape investment opportunities. Barzah Capital's Founder and Chairman, Mana Ibrahim Al Mana, emphasized the importance of developing a regulated, Shariah-compliant tokenization model.
The QFC Digital Assets Lab supports digital innovation in Qatar by providing a platform for developing and testing new business models, helping participants align innovation with regulatory requirements.
The Qatar Financial Centre is a leading onshore financial and business center, and its Digital Assets Lab is a key initiative in promoting digital assets and financial services in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third Financial Sector Strategic Plan.
