Arsenal's Bukayo Saka was substituted after 10 minutes due to a quad injury during the 2-2 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich, bbc.com reported.

The 25-year-old winger went down attempting to play a pass and was replaced by Eberechi Eze, who scored the opening goal. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed concern about the injury, saying it 'does not look good at all.'

Saka has had fitness issues in recent months, including an Achilles injury and a hamstring problem. He made 49 appearances for Arsenal last season, despite a stop-start season. Saka's absence will be tough to deal with, but Arsenal has invested heavily in their squad and has options, including Noni Madueke and Christos Tzolis. Arteta was pleased with the performance of Eze and other substitutes.

Saka has been vital to Arsenal, with the team having a notably higher win percentage when he plays. His injury could be a real problem for Arsenal going forward. The Gunners have a deep squad, but Saka's star power will be missed.

Bukayo Saka's injury history includes an Achilles injury picked up in March, which kept him out for several games. He also had surgery on a hamstring injury in December 2024, which kept him out for 101 days in the 2024-25 season.
