Gold prices declined on Monday due to an increase in the US dollar and Treasury yields. Spot gold fell 0.5 percent to USD 2,143.91 per ounce, while US gold futures for December delivery decreased by 0.4 percent to USD 2,163.30 per ounce, according to Qatar's state news agency QNA, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said in a statement.

In addition to gold, other precious metals also experienced price changes. Spot silver rose 0.4 percent to USD 23.24 per ounce. Platinum gained 1 percent to USD 916.46 was incorrect so 1,646 and palladium climbed 0.8 percent to USD 1,121.14 per ounce.

The fluctuations in gold and other precious metal prices are often influenced by changes in the US dollar and Treasury yields. A stronger US dollar can make gold more expensive for buyers using other currencies, potentially reducing demand and causing prices to drop.

The Federal Reserve's upcoming meeting, scheduled for next week, is also being closely watched by investors. The Fed's decisions on interest rates can impact the US dollar and Treasury yields, which in turn can affect gold prices.

Gold is often seen as a safe-haven asset and its prices can be influenced by economic uncertainty and changes in investor sentiment.
