Pakistan seeks stronger trade and investment ties with Sudan
Shehbaz Sharif told Sudan's interior minister that agriculture, defence and education offer scope for closer bilateral cooperation.

Pakistan wants to strengthen its bilateral relations with Sudan, especially in trade and investment, the state broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Thursday.
Sharif made the remarks while meeting Sudanese Interior Minister Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa Ali, who called on him in Islamabad.
The prime minister said the two countries have wide scope for cooperation in agriculture, defence, education and other sectors.
Sharif said Pakistan values its long-standing and brotherly ties with Sudan and hopes the country will overcome its current crisis and become peaceful, stable and prosperous.
He also said Pakistan highly values Sudan's cooperation at the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the G-77 and other multilateral forums.
The visiting minister thanked the prime minister and the government of Pakistan for their welcome and hospitality during his visit.
Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa Ali also expressed gratitude for the humanitarian and medical assistance that Pakistan's government and people have provided to Sudan during its difficult period.
He praised Pakistan's support at international forums for efforts to restore peace and stability in Sudan, and its role in promoting regional peace and mediation.
Sudan has been engulfed in fighting between its army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces since April 2023, a conflict that has displaced millions of people and devastated much of the country.
