Pakistan, US to Collaborate on Healthcare Services, Youth Employment
Pakistan and the US will collaborate on healthcare services, youth employment, and skills development through a new Secretariat.
The Prime Minister's Youth Programme (PMYP) and Physicians Revenue Group (PRG), Pakistan, have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to establish the PMYP United States Secretariat for Healthcare Services Cooperation in the US, Press Information Department (PID) said in a statement.
The LOI was signed during a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), witnessed by Chairman of the PMYP, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan. The proposed Secretariat will serve as a coordination platform connecting Pakistani institutions with US healthcare providers, universities, and industry stakeholders.
It aims to foster institutional partnerships, facilitate knowledge exchange, and create new opportunities for Pakistani youth in healthcare administration, medical and dental billing, and healthcare technology. The collaboration recognizes the significant opportunities presented by the US healthcare market and Pakistan's growing capacity to provide skilled healthcare support services.
The initiative seeks to promote productive employment, enhance professional development, and expand Pakistan's healthcare services exports. A key area of cooperation will be supporting the development of industry standards and regulatory frameworks for Pakistan's medical billing and healthcare services sector.
The two organizations will establish a Joint Working Group to plan, monitor, and review the Secretariat's activities and facilitate coordination with relevant Pakistani and US institutions. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the PMYP, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to expanding international cooperation and creating sustainable economic opportunities for Pakistan's youth.
