Rachael Haynes will step down as general manager of the Sydney Sixers at the end of this month, Cricket Australia said in a statement.

Haynes, a former Australia vice-captain, is relocating to the United Kingdom with her family. Hayden McIntosh has been appointed as interim general manager for the upcoming Weber WBBL and KFC BBL seasons.

During her tenure, the Sixers' women's team returned to the WBBL finals last season, while the men's team finished third in 2024-25 and were runners-up the previous summer. Haynes expressed her pride in what the team has built, on and off the field, and thanked players, coaches, staff, and fans.

Haynes' partner, Leah Poulton, has taken over as England's managing director of women's cricket. Cricket NSW CEO Lee Germon praised Haynes' leadership, saying she helped shape the club into one of the most successful and respected in the competition.

McIntosh will lead the Sixers' commercial, events, and consumer-facing operations, supported by Cricket NSW's chief cricket performance officer Greg Mail on cricket operations and high-performance matters. Recruitment for a permanent replacement will begin in early 2027.

The Sydney Sixers are one of the founding teams of the Big Bash League and have a strong following in Australia. The team has won several titles, including the WBBL and BBL championships.
