Tesla unveils new Roadster with rocket thrusters at SpaceX event in Texas.

Tesla has unveiled a new version of its Roadster sports car, equipped with rocket thrusters, at an event held at SpaceX's development and test facility in Texas.

The white, two-seater car was shown driving up a ramp, flipping almost upside down, and then using its thrusters to hover in mid-air before landing safely on the ground.

According to Tesla, the car has a section system that allows it to stick to the ramp even when upside down. The car is also equipped with cold thrusters that enable it to change direction and land safely.

The event featured a demonstration of the car's capabilities, including a jump over a truck and other cars.

Tesla says production of the sports car will begin in 2028. The company did not announce the price, but its website lists a 'performance' model for $50,000 and a 'thruster' model for $250,000.

Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO, described the car as 'something you haven't seen in a movie.'

The car's specifications include acceleration from zero to 60 miles per hour in under one second and a top speed of over 230 miles per hour.

Tesla's engineering chief, Lars Morawiec, provided additional details about the car's capabilities.

Some critics argue that the car's commercial significance is limited and that it is more of a publicity stunt than a practical product.

The event was held at SpaceX's test center in McGregor, Texas, and featured elements typical of Tesla's product launches, including dramatic music and countdowns.

The new Roadster is a collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX, and some observers see it as a demonstration of Musk's interest in potentially merging the two companies.

Tesla's financial results for the third quarter are expected soon, and investors are eagerly awaiting the numbers.
