India's Renuka Singh Ruled Out of Zimbabwe ODI Series

India's Renuka Singh to miss three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe due to bowling volume concerns

Sports - ICC

India's pace bowler Renuka Singh will not play in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Singh is still building up her bowling volume required for the 50-over format at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. She last played for India in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

The BCCI has named uncapped fast bowler Jintimani Kalita as Singh's replacement in the squad. Kalita was part of India's T20I squad in the recent series against Zimbabwe and has joined the team in Baroda, where the three ODIs will be played.

India's updated ODI squad includes Smriti Mandhana as captain, Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, Tejal Hasabnis, Deepti Sharma as vice-captian, Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia as wicket-keepers, Vaishnavi Sharma, Nandni Sharma, Sree Charani, Kranti Gaud, Sayali Satghare, and Jintimani Kalita.

The first of the three ODIs between India and Zimbabwe is scheduled to start on October 23.

India and Zimbabwe are competing in the ICC Women's Championship, a prestigious international tournament that showcases the best of women's cricket.

The ICC Women's Championship provides a platform for teams to compete and improve their skills, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
