Netherlands name squad for Women's Emerging Nations Trophy
Babette de Leede will captain a 14-player side that is in Group B with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Zimbabwe.
The Netherlands named a full-strength squad on Monday for the Women's Emerging Nations Trophy, which starts on Nov. 12 in the United Arab Emirates, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement.
Babette de Leede will lead the 14-player squad, which includes Carlijn van Koolwijk, Caroline de Lange, Frédérique Overdijk, Hannah Landheer, Heather Siegers, Iris Zwilling, Myrthe van den Raad, Phebe Molkenboer, Robine Rijke, Rosalie Lawrence, Sanya Khurana, Silver Siegers and Sterre Kalis.
Most of the players are the same as those who represented the Netherlands at the T20 World Cup, with Carlijn van Koolwijk and Hannah Landheer the two exceptions, the ICC said.
The Dutch arrive at the tournament after a 1-1 draw in a one-day international series against Scotland.
Earlier this year, the Netherlands made their debut at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England and Wales.
The Netherlands are in Group B with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and defending champions Thailand.
Ten teams are taking part this year, compared with five in the previous edition.
Ireland, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe are the full members in the field, joined by the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
The teams have been split into two groups of five, with Group A made up of Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Papua New Guinea and the hosts, the United Arab Emirates.
All matches will be played in Ajman, with fixtures shared between the Karwan Sports Club Cricket Ground and the Seven Districts Sports Club, the ICC said.
