Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his government's commitment to maintaining high educational standards at Daanish Schools, the state broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.
The prime minister chaired a meeting in Lahore to review the schools' progress, emphasizing that admissions will be strictly merit-based and reserved for underprivileged children from low-income families.
He stressed that investing in the education of the country's children is crucial for its future, and directed the integration of modern teaching methods, including Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology, into the curriculum.
The prime minister also instructed authorities to expedite construction work on Daanish Schools nationwide, ensuring timely completion by working around the clock.
He further directed the concerned authorities to conduct third-party validation to assess the quality of infrastructure, facilities, and services at Daanish schools.
To improve regional connectivity, Sharif instructed the Ministry of Communications to develop a superior road network, providing easy access to Daanish School sites in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The prime minister also called for a comprehensive strategy to construct Daanish Schools in the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Background
Daanish Schools are a network of public schools in Pakistan that aim to provide free education to underprivileged children from low-income families.
The schools were established to bridge the educational gap between urban and rural areas, and to provide opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to access quality education.
Future Plans
The prime minister's directives are expected to improve the quality of education and infrastructure at Daanish Schools, enabling more children to access education and paving the way for a brighter future for Pakistan.
The government's focus on education is seen as a step towards addressing the country's social and economic challenges, and promoting sustainable development.
