Russia's Federal Security Service detained a teenager on Sunday after he threatened to commit a crime at a park in Moscow, Russia's state news agency TASS reported.

The FSB said it acted on information from US law enforcement agencies about possible preparations for a terrorist attack at the Tsaritsyno Museum in the capital.

The security service said the detained person is a minor who posted a video on the TikTok platform threatening an attack at Tsaritsyno Park.

The FSB said the teenager shared photos of himself in tactical clothing, a balaclava, a cap, sunglasses and headphones, holding an object resembling an automatic weapon.

According to the agency, he also posted photos taken at the museum with the caption "I found a place."

Investigators found clothing and accessories at the teenager's home, the FSB said in a statement.

The security service said it also identified a TikTok account used to post the threats, a subscription to a neo-Nazi channel on the Telegram messaging app, and a large number of search queries about past terrorist acts, mass murders and other violence on his devices.

The FSB said all cultural and public events at the museum and park were cancelled, and security was tightened while the investigation continues.

"We are thankful to the American side for the information it has shared," the FSB said.

The Federal Security Service is Russia's main domestic security agency and the successor to the Soviet-era KGB's internal security functions.

Tsaritsyno is a park and museum complex in southern Moscow that draws large numbers of visitors, particularly on weekends and during public events.
