San Diego Islamic Center Locked Down After Threat
The Islamic Center of San Diego was placed on lockdown due to a threat, with police present and a public safety alert issued.

A lockdown was imposed on the Islamic Center of San Diego in California as a precautionary measure following a threat, Turkey's state-run news agency Anadolu Agency reported on Wednesday.
The San Diego Police Department announced the lockdown, citing an abundance of caution, and assured the public that a police presence was established at the location to guarantee everyone's safety.
Authorities later released a public safety alert, requesting the public to be vigilant for a 2015 gray Toyota 4Runner with a New York license plate number KGN3027, and to immediately contact 911 if the vehicle is spotted, rather than approaching it.
The lockdown was a response to a threat, prompting senior leaders at the center to secure the premises and notify parents of children attending its school, local broadcaster ABC 10News said.
The Islamic Center of San Diego, like other places of worship, has the right to operate freely and safely in the United States, and law enforcement agencies take threats against such institutions seriously.
In recent years, there has been an increase in reported incidents of hate crimes and threats against mosques and Islamic centers across the United States, highlighting the need for vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement and community leaders to ensure public safety.
