Trump blames Fox News for Republican losses in US midterms
Trump accused the network of giving Democrats airtime and questioned why it hosted former New York mayor Bill de Blasio.
President Donald Trump faulted Fox News on Wednesday for Republican losses in the US midterm elections, Turkey's state-run news agency Anadolu Agency reported.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the network shares the blame for the defeats because it regularly gave airtime to the Democratic side.
He singled out former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, asking why Fox News had let him appear on air to advise on how the country should be governed.
Trump also claimed de Blasio had left office in disgrace.
Trump has repeatedly criticized Fox News commentators and editorial decisions that departed from his political positions during the election campaign.
The post came as US media projected that Democrats would win control of the Senate and appeared on course to secure a majority in the House of Representatives, a result that could limit Trump's legislative agenda.
Fox News is a US cable news channel that has long been a major outlet for conservative viewers, and Trump has often praised its programming while turning on individual hosts when their coverage displeased him.
De Blasio served as mayor of New York City from 2014 to 2021, and he has been a frequent commentator on national politics since leaving office.
