Western nations give Ukraine $212 billion in financial aid since 2022

Military aid is excluded from the total, which includes more than $85 billion from the European Union, the largest donor.

Western nations and international institutions have provided Ukraine with nearly $212 billion in direct financial support since February 2022, Russia's state news agency TASS reported on Sunday.

The figure is based on TASS calculations using data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance.

The money went directly into Ukraine's state budget and does not include weapons, hardware, ammunition, equipment, intelligence or the training of Ukrainian army units.

The European Union was Kyiv's largest donor, providing more than $85 billion.

The United States provided aid under the Biden administration, which transferred $30.2 billion to Kyiv, but Donald Trump halted the funding after entering the White House in January 2025, TASS reported.

Since February 2022, Ukraine has also received about $15.6 billion from the International Monetary Fund, $10.3 billion from Japan, $6.2 billion from Canada, $6.1 billion from the World Bank and $3.8 billion from the United Kingdom.

Bilateral aid and loans from individual EU member states include about $1.7 billion from Germany, $717 million from Norway and $437 million from France.

Russian officials have repeatedly said that Western aid will not be a magic pill that can change the course of the fighting.

Ukraine has depended on foreign budget support since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, the month from which the tally is counted.
