Perth Scorchers beat Melbourne Stars by six wickets at North Sydney Oval on Sunday, with Sophie Devine hitting 55 off 24 balls, Cricket Australia said in a statement.

Devine reached fifty off just 21 deliveries, the fastest of her WBBL career, and her innings included eight fours and three sixes.

Beth Mooney added 28 off 24 balls, and the Scorchers reached their target of 137 with 30 balls to spare.

The result keeps Perth unbeaten at 4-0 in WBBL|12, and the team now returns to Perth for a run of home matches.

The Stars, who are 1-4 midway through the season, were restricted to 6-136 after winning the toss and batting first.

Meg Lanning top-scored for Melbourne with 56 off 46 balls, but no other batter made a major contribution.

Sophie Devine and Amy Edgar took two wickets apiece for the Scorchers, while spinner Alana King finished with 0-12 from four overs.

Devine had retired on 42 off 39 balls in an earlier match on Thursday, and she said her batting in Sunday's game was "a bit better than the other night".

"Cricket can be a dog of a game sometimes, and if you're going to ride the highs and lows, you're going to get pretty tired."

Devine said the team's bowling still needed work, adding that the side was "giving away a few too many freebies" and must keep evolving.

The Stars will look to snap a four-game losing streak when they host the Heat at Junction Oval on Thursday, while the Scorchers host the Thunder at the WACA Ground on Wednesday.

The Women's Big Bash League is Australia's domestic women's Twenty20 competition, and WBBL|12 is the twelfth edition of the tournament.
