Koo Ja-wook was named series MVP after going 3-for-5, and the Lions won the last four games after losing the opener.
The Samsung Lions beat the KT Wiz 12-1 on Sunday to win the Korean Series title, their first in 12 years, South Korea's national news agency Yonhap reported.
The Lions closed out the best-of-seven series in Game 5 at Daegu Samsung Lions Park in Daegu, where they blew the game open with an eight-run fifth inning in front of a sellout crowd of 23,550 fans.
Starter Won Tae-in pitched five innings and allowed one run to earn the victory.
Captain Koo Ja-wook went 3-for-5, scored twice and was named Korean Series MVP.
The Lions lost the series opener on the road in Suwon, just south of Seoul, but then won the next four games in a row, including the past three at home in Daegu.
The Wiz had the best regular-season record and earned a bye to the Korean Series, while the Lions finished the regular season in second place, eight games behind.
The Lions are the first No. 2 seed to be crowned Korean Series champions since the 2018 SK Wyverns.
The Wiz were chasing their first title since 2021 and were also runners-up in the 2023 Korean Series.
The Korean Series is the championship series of the KBO League, the top professional baseball league in South Korea, and is decided by a best-of-seven format.
