Ahsan Iqbal seeks closer ties between URAAN Pakistan and Vision 2030
Iqbal said both frameworks offer chances for economic cooperation, human resource development and private-sector engagement.

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal discussed expanding links between URAAN Pakistan and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 with the Saudi ambassador on Thursday, the state broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported.
Saudi Ambassador Rajeh Tami Albugami called on Iqbal in Islamabad, and the two sides spoke about the programmes' shared goals.
Iqbal said both are national development frameworks that offer significant opportunities for economic cooperation, human resource development and greater private-sector involvement.
He said turning the historic relationship between the two countries into lasting partnerships in trade, investment, knowledge and technology remains a shared priority.
Iqbal said Pakistan aims to "build a strong economic partnership" based on the friendship between the two countries, with a focus on young people.
Ambassador Albugami stressed the need for strategic alignment, comprehensive planning and sustained institutional engagement to strengthen bilateral relations further.
He also pointed to opportunities for cooperation in investment, private-sector development, economic affairs and tourism, and said he was confident the partnership would grow.
The meeting covered closer institutional cooperation between Pakistan's Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Economy and Planning.
The two sides also discussed cooperation in economic development, investment, education, technology and human resource development.
URAAN Pakistan is the government's national development framework, while Vision 2030 is Saudi Arabia's long-term plan to diversify its economy away from oil.
