Australia Takes Control of Third Test Against South Africa
Australia reached 4-330 at stumps on day two of the third Test against South Africa, taking the lead and control of the match, Cricket Australia reported.
Australia's batters dominated the second day of the third Test against South Africa, reaching 4-330 at stumps in reply to the Proteas' first-innings 329, Cricket Australia reported on Wednesday.
Rabada and Jansen struggled with injuries, with Rabada battling stomach cramps and Jansen experiencing stiffness, Proteas bowling coach Piet Botha said.
Rabada had a difficult day, conceding 81 runs from 18 wicketless overs and leaving the field three times, while Jansen required treatment on field for stiffness.
Despite this, Jansen managed to remove Matt Renshaw (74) and Cameron Green (65) in consecutive overs.
Botha attributed Rabada's struggles to stomach cramps that developed during the day, saying he was not at his best but hoped to recover soon.
Jansen's stiffness was described as minor, with Botha stating it was likely just a result of the intense cricket schedule.
The Proteas' bowling performance was rated as a "six-out-of-10" by Botha, who acknowledged the team's batters had let them down by collapsing from 1-203 to all out for 329.
The match is being played at Newlands in Cape Town, with the series currently on the line.
The second Test was won by South Africa by an innings and 31 runs.
