Greek singer Argiros performs in Ankara and eyes Turkish collaborations
Argiros said he is open to new work with Turkish musicians, including possibly another song with Sila, and will start new projects in Athens.
Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros staged a concert in Ankara on Wednesday, the Turkish state-run news agency Anadolu Agency reported.
The show, which featured several of his best-known songs, took place at the ATO Congresium and was jointly organized by Epifoni and Sinkron Management.
Before going on stage, Argiros told Anadolu that he has always been welcomed warmly in Türkiye and wanted to thank Turkish fans for their support.
"I love Turkish music," he said.
He added that he has followed Turkish music closely since childhood and is open to further collaborations with Turkish artists.
Argiros said this could include recording another song with Turkish singer Sila, with whom he previously performed in a joint concert.
He said he plans to begin work on new projects and songs once he returns to Athens.
Argiros also pointed to the musical links between Türkiye and Greece, saying both countries share traditional melodies rooted in their common cultural heritage.
He said he enjoys exploring folk music and combining older melodies with modern sounds.
He named Ibrahim Tatlises among the Turkish musicians he admires, citing the singer's voice and live performances as particularly impressive.
Sila is a Turkish singer, and Tatlises is one of the best-known names in Turkish popular music.
Musicians from Greece and Türkiye have long shared audiences and influences, and Argiros's remarks reflect that tradition of exchange.
