Israeli drone strike kills man in Gaza displacement tent
Local sources identified the dead man as Abd Walid Matar, as Israeli fire also hit eastern Gaza City and Khan Younis.
An Israeli drone strike killed one Palestinian and wounded another on Thursday at a tent sheltering displaced people in central Gaza, Turkey's state-run news agency Anadolu Agency reported.
Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said the drone fired two missiles at the tent, which stands west of Al-Zawayda.
Local sources identified the dead man as Abd Walid Matar.
Elsewhere, Israeli artillery shelled eastern Gaza City, Israeli naval vessels fired toward the shore, and a drone struck the Al-Karama neighborhood of the city, Anadolu reported.
In the south, Israeli forces carried out a demolition east of Khan Younis.
The strikes came during a ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, although Israeli violations of the truce have been daily.
On Tuesday, Israeli attacks and wounds from earlier strikes killed three Palestinians in Gaza, among them a girl who died when a drone hit a tent near Gaza Municipality Park.
Gaza's Health Ministry said Israeli ceasefire violations have killed 1,599 Palestinians and wounded 5,774 others.
Ministry figures show that Israeli attacks since Oct. 8, 2023 have killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and wounded over 174,000 others.
Anadolu reported that the attacks have caused widespread destruction, affecting around 90 percent of civilian infrastructure.
The war began after Hamas-led attacks on Israel in October 2023, and the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025 was meant to halt the large-scale fighting.
Gaza's Health Ministry operates under the authorities in the territory, and its casualty figures are widely cited by United Nations agencies, though Israel has disputed some of them.
