Hundreds protest in Stockholm against Israeli attacks
Demonstrators at Odenplan Square urged Israel to halt its strikes on Gaza and asked Sweden to suspend arms sales to Israel.
Hundreds of people marched through central Stockholm on Saturday evening to denounce Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories and Lebanon, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The rally began at Odenplan Square after several civil society organizations called on the public to protest Israeli military strikes on the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, as well as on Lebanon.
The organizers also accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire agreement.
Protesters held up placards with slogans that included "Children are being killed in Gaza" and "Stop the attacks on Lebanon."
Other signs criticized the bombing of schools and hospitals and the shortage of food in Gaza.
The demonstrators demanded that Israel stop its attacks on Gaza immediately.
They also urged the Swedish government to halt arms sales to Israel.
The WAFA report did not give official figures for the number of participants or say whether police were involved in the event.
Gaza has been under a ceasefire arrangement since late 2025, but attacks and deadly incidents have continued, according to the Palestinian side, and the humanitarian situation there remains a central concern for many governments and aid groups.
Sweden has been part of a wider European debate over arms exports to Israel, and pro-Palestinian rallies have been held in many European cities since the war in Gaza began in October 2023.
