Inter Miami CF, led by Lionel Messi, face Red Bull New York in MLS match

Inter Miami CF, led by Lionel Messi, take on Red Bull New York in a Saturday evening MLS match at Sports Illustrated Stadium, mlssoccer.com said.

The Red Bulls are coming off two straight losses, including a 2-0 setback at home to Toronto FC. They currently occupy ninth and final postseason position in the Eastern Conference, level on points with Toronto and just one point ahead of the Columbus Crew.

Inter Miami, on the other hand, are on a three-game winning streak, most recently downing Atlanta United 3-1 on the road. Lionel Messi led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist, while Germán Berterame tallied 1 goal and 2 assists and Luis Suárez added two assists.

Inter Miami have already secured their place in the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, and Messi looks set to win his third straight MLS MVP. The team will still be looking to secure a strong seeding in the East, with a three-point cushion on third-place New England.

The match is expected to be competitive, with market insights showing Inter Miami as favorites, garnering 53% of the market, compared to 27% for the Red Bulls.

Red Bull New York's head coach is Michael Bradley, who is in his first season in charge. The team has had a rollercoaster season so far, with plenty of positives and work still to be done.
