Israeli forces and settlers carried out 15 attacks on Palestinian farmers and their land across six West Bank governorates on Monday, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said the incidents took place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and included burning and uprooting olive trees, bulldozing farmland and damaging water sources.

The attacks also involved stealing crops, detaining farmers, seizing a vehicle and blocking Palestinians from reaching their land, the commission said.

The commission reported that Israeli authorities had started building a new concrete wall alongside land belonging to the village of Marda, north of Salfit.

The commission said the attacks showed an escalation aimed at the basis of Palestinian agriculture, going beyond interference with the olive harvest to restrict land use and separate owners from their property.

It warned that if these practices continued, restrictions on Palestinians' access to their land could become a permanent reality on the ground, and called on the international community to intervene.

In its monthly report issued on Monday, the commission said Israeli forces and settlers carried out 3,133 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property across the occupied West Bank in October, a 52.8 percent increase from September.

Of these, 1,764 were carried out by Israeli forces and 1,369 by settlers, a 111.6 percent rise in settler attacks compared with the previous month.

The commission also documented damage to 5,890 trees in October, including 4,498 olive trees, as attacks on farmland rose during the harvest season.

Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are considered illegal under international law, a position Israel disputes.
