The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to remove legal advisors appointed during the PTI rule.

The law department has sent a letter to all administrative secretaries, instructing them to immediately de-notify the legal advisors and submit a report.

According to the letter, the appointments of legal advisors were made on the recommendation of the scrutiny committee of the Advocate General's office, for a period from November 11, 2024, to September 17, 2026.

The government has also been asked to make new appointments soon to ensure the smooth functioning of government affairs.

Law advisor to the Governor's advisory council, Amir Javed, said that new lawyers will be appointed on merit, and those who were removed can be re-appointed if they meet the merit criteria.
