Pakistan and Qatar co-chaired the second meeting of their joint task force on trade and investment in Doha, reviewing progress and discussing new opportunities, the Press Information Department (PID) said on Sunday.

The meeting, led by Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed, covered measures to strengthen bilateral trade, facilitate investment, and advance cooperation in priority economic sectors.

Pakistan sought Qatar's support for the early signing of the Pakistan-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement, having completed its domestic approval process and forwarded the agreement text to the GCC Secretariat.

The Pakistani side also raised concerns about restrictions on bone-in meat exports to Qatar and proposed a Memorandum of Understanding for the supply of Pakistani rice.

Pakistan invited Qatari investment in modern agriculture, the automobile sector, information technology, and digital infrastructure, and identified opportunities for cooperation in shipping and maritime transport.

The Qatari side emphasized enhanced cooperation in civil aviation and air traffic, and both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation.

Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan also held a bilateral meeting with Ms. Nan Li Collins, Head of the World Investment Forum, to discuss regional cooperation and economic integration.
