Qatar Hailed as Leading Model in Global Investment by UNCTAD Official
Qatar praised as a principal model in global investment due to its forward-looking approach, Qatar News Agency reported.

Qatar has been hailed as a leading model in global investment owing to its international standing and forward-looking approach to policymaking, the spokesperson for UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said in a statement.
The ninth edition of the World Investment Forum 2026 will be hosted by Qatar in partnership with UNCTAD under the theme "Investing in the Future," the spokesperson, Marcelo Risi, said in an interview.
The forum will convene capital providers, project developers, and policymakers to drive investment and align it with global development goals, Risi said, adding that it will examine foreign direct investment trends and their direct relation to development.
The forum will also explore emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence, culture, and tourism, and carries heightened significance given current geopolitical and geo-economic challenges, Risi said.
Realizing sustainable investments requires developing infrastructure, enhancing skills, building institutional capacity, and strengthening robust governance frameworks capable of implementing long-term policies, he stressed.
