US President Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind the label "super intelligence" for AI and urged American states to embrace the technology, Turkey's state-run news agency Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he was "100% in favor of Super Intelligence (SI)" and would work with states that want to grow rich from it.

"They are GOLD, and only foolish leadership will say 'NO' to the riches they bring," he wrote.

The comments reinforce Trump's effort to replace "artificial intelligence" with "super intelligence" in government language, a push that is reshaping how his administration describes the technology.

Trump has signed an executive order directing federal departments and agencies to use "Super Intelligence" and "SI" rather than "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in official letters, public statements, websites, reports and policy papers, where the law allows.

He has previously said the White House views anyone who keeps using the phrase "artificial intelligence" instead of "super intelligence" as an "enemy."

The administration has also set up a Super Intelligence Force to coordinate the federal government's approach to the technology.

AI has become a central issue in US economic and technology policy, with federal and state governments weighing how to encourage development while setting rules for its use.
