The Yemeni army said on Monday it carried out 951 operations against Houthi positions and fighters in 24 hours under Operation Dawn of Yemen, Anadolu Agency reported.

Army spokesman Majed al-Nuzaili said in a statement posted on X that the operations had neutralized about 332 Houthi field commanders and fighters.

The army also said it destroyed or damaged 56 vehicles, pieces of equipment and weapons on several fronts, including Al-Jawf, Marib and Al-Bayda.

In the southwestern province of Taiz, al-Nuzaili said government troops were continuing to repel Houthi attacks and to strike the group's positions, movements and sources of fire.

He said military engineers were clearing mines and explosive devices from areas recently recaptured in Al-Jawf to lower the risk to civilians.

There was no immediate response from the Houthis to the army's claims.

Fighting between government forces and the Houthis resumed in July, according to UN reports, killing and wounding thousands of people and displacing more than 250,000.

The renewed escalation ended a period of relative calm that had held in Yemen since April 2022, and the humanitarian crisis has deepened amid ongoing fighting and displacement.

Yemen has been at war since the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and several provinces in September 2014.

A Saudi-led coalition intervened in March 2015 in support of the internationally recognized government, and the conflict has continued in various forms since then.
