Yemen's information minister meets British envoy on media ties
The two sides discussed expanding media training and experience exchange, and the ambassador congratulated al-Awlaqi on his new post.

Yemen's Information Minister Salem al-Awlaqi met British Ambassador Abda Sharif on Friday to discuss bilateral relations, with media cooperation as a central topic, the news agency of Yemen's internationally recognised government Saba (Government) reported.
The talks focused on relations between Yemen and the United Kingdom, particularly in the media sector.
The discussions also covered recent developments in Yemen, where Houthi militias have escalated military operations.
The report said the Houthis have committed grave violations against civilians and imposed a strangling blockade on the city of Taiz, causing severe humanitarian suffering.
Al-Awlaqi praised British support for Yemen and its legitimate government at various stages, especially in the current phase.
He also thanked the United Kingdom for its contribution to humanitarian aid and development work in Yemen, and for its backing of efforts to achieve peace and stability.
Al-Awlaqi said he looks forward to widening media coordination between the two countries through training, capacity building and exchanges of experience.
He added that the two sides could benefit from modern technical advances in developing media work.
The ambassador congratulated al-Awlaqi on his appointment as information minister.
Houthi forces seized the capital, Sanaa, in 2014, and the internationally recognised government has since operated from Aden, while fighting between the two sides has continued for years.
The United Kingdom has been among the countries that support Yemen's humanitarian response and development programmes.
