Britney Spears reissues 2001 album with five unreleased songs
The 23-track set pairs the original songs with extra recordings and two remixes, and includes a song Spears co-wrote with Justin Timberlake.

Pop star Britney Spears’ 2001 album Britney returned to streaming platforms on Friday in an expanded edition featuring five previously unreleased tracks, marking 25 years since its original release, Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
The anniversary edition comprises 23 tracks and has been released through Legacy Recordings, with RCA Records credited on the album’s Apple Music listing. It brings together the original album’s songs, previously unheard recordings and two remixes.
The five previously unreleased tracks are “She’ll Never Be Me,” “Am I a Sinner,” “When I Say So,” “Right Now (Taste the Victory)” and “My Big Secret.”
One of the tracks, “She’ll Never Be Me,” co-written by Spears and Justin Timberlake, was released ahead of the anniversary edition in October.
Originally released in November 2001, when Spears was 19, Britney represented an important transition in her musical career, reflecting a more mature direction in both sound and image.
The album featured several of her popular songs, including “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Overprotected” and “I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman.”
The expanded release offers listeners a fresh look at an influential period in Spears’ career. Now 44, the singer has not released a studio album of new material since Glory in 2016.
Spears rose to worldwide fame in 1998 with her debut single “...Baby One More Time,” which became an international hit and established her as one of the biggest pop acts of her generation.
She subsequently strengthened her position in the music industry with chart-topping releases such as “Oops!... I Did It Again,” “Toxic” and “Womanizer,” earning widespread recognition as the “Princess of Pop.”
Released at a time when several young female pop performers were adopting more mature musical styles and public images, *Britney* reflected the broader shift taking place in mainstream pop music in the early 2000s.
