New Zealand batter Devon Conway will miss the rest of the home one-day international series against India because of concussion, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement on Friday.

Conway, 35, collided with teammate Matt Henry at training last week and missed the opening match in Auckland, which India won by five wickets under the DLS method.

Conway has been diagnosed with concussion and will miss the last four ODIs, with the aim of being fit for the two-match ICC World Test Championship series that begins in Wellington on Nov. 19.

Henry has been cleared of concussion and is in contention to return to New Zealand's team for the second ODI in Wellington on Saturday.

Left-handed batter Nick Kelly has been named as Conway's replacement and will join his teammates in Wellington on Friday ahead of the second match.

New Zealand are already without all-rounder Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman, who were ruled out of the ODI series before it began.

The remaining fixtures are the second ODI in Wellington on Nov. 7, the third in Hamilton on Nov. 10, and the fourth and fifth in Mount Maunganui on Nov. 13 and Nov. 15.

The World Test Championship is a cycle of Test series between national teams, and results in those series count towards qualification for its final.
