Field Marshal Munir urges steady training at SSG headquarters
Munir inspected special forces demonstrations, laid a wreath at the Shuhada Monument and praised troops for their discipline and morale.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who serves as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, called on Thursday for ongoing training and readiness in the army, Radio Pakistan reported.
Speaking during a visit to the Special Services Group headquarters in Tarbela, Munir said that building homegrown capabilities and staying focused on being prepared for operations were necessary to stay ahead of changing security threats.
During the visit, he spoke with officers and soldiers at the headquarters.
He received a briefing on the SSG's specialised training, operational preparedness and mission-oriented readiness, and then watched a display of advanced specialised equipment.
The unit also demonstrated its combat skill, speed and accuracy in carrying out special operations, the broadcaster reported.
Munir praised the personnel for their professionalism, high morale and commitment to their duties, Radio Pakistan reported.
He laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument and offered prayers in tribute to SSG members who died in the line of duty defending the country.
The General Officer Commanding of the SSG met him on his arrival.
The SSG is the special operations force of the Pakistan Army and is trained for counterterrorism and other high-risk missions.
Pakistan's armed forces have fought militant groups in the northwest for years, which has made specialised units a central part of military training.
