Israeli Aggression in Hebron Leaves Hundreds Displaced and Detained
Israeli forces raided parts of Hebron city, displacing nearly 4,000 Palestinians and detaining 85, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The Israeli military operation in Hebron has affected 619 families, with many forced to flee their homes or seek shelter with relatives or in rented accommodations, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Monday.
Around 3,971 Palestinians have been displaced, particularly from the areas of Deir Baha and al-Jilda, while hundreds more remain trapped inside their homes in neighboring neighborhoods.
The Palestinian Prisoner's Society said 85 Palestinians, including a girl, have been detained since the start of the aggression, with over 250 others subjected to field interrogation.
The Follow-up, Support and Relief Committee in Hebron has begun distributing aid and essential supplies to affected families and is coordinating relief efforts.
Israeli forces continue to close off areas of al-Jilda and Deir Baha, causing damage to residents, businesses, and property, and have imposed closures at the entrances to Hebron city, its towns, and refugee camps.
The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented 272 attacks by Israeli forces and colonists in Hebron Governorate during September, including 122 carried out by colonists.
In the same month, 19 demolition operations targeted 91 structures in the governorate, making Hebron the West Bank governorate with the highest number of structures demolished.
The humanitarian and living conditions in Hebron Governorate are deteriorating due to continued military measures and closures, which restrict residents' movement and disrupt their daily lives.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been ongoing for decades, with Hebron being a key location of contention, and the recent aggression has further exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The international community has been monitoring the situation, with many organizations expressing concern over the escalating violence and its impact on civilians.
