Rashid Khan achieved the milestone of 200 T20I wickets in his 120th appearance in the format, a feat that solidified his position as a leading bowler in the shortest format, the International Cricket Council (ICC) reported on Thursday.

Afghanistan's batting lineup staged a remarkable recovery after being reduced to 5/4 in the powerplay, with Azmatullah Omarzai and Ijaz Ahmadzai forming a crucial partnership that yielded 142 runs.

Omarzai scored his maiden T20I hundred, smashing 12 sixes and five boundaries, while Ahmadzai added 52 runs to the total.

Afghanistan posted a total of 221/7 in 20 overs, a score that marked the first instance of a team scoring over 200 runs in T20Is after losing their first four wickets for less than 20 runs.

Zimbabwe's skipper, Sikandar Raza, led a spirited effort with his second T20I century, but Afghanistan managed to secure a win and take an unassailable lead in the three-match series.

The two teams had previously clashed in the first two T20Is, with Afghanistan winning both matches by 37 runs and 19 runs, respectively.
