Scotland name Kathryn Bryce captain for Women's Emerging Nations Trophy
The squad mixes experienced players with teenagers, and the 10-team tournament in the UAE starts on Nov. 12.
Scotland have named Kathryn Bryce as captain of their 14-player squad for the ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy in the UAE, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Thursday.
The 28-year-old all-rounder also led Scotland at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup earlier this year, and she will again lead the side at the 10-team event, which begins on Nov. 12.
The squad combines experience with youth, the ICC said, with Darcey Carter, Sarah Bryce and Katherine Fraser having played plenty of international cricket.
Gabriella Fontenla and Pippa Sproul also feature in the squad, having played for Scotland at the most recent ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup in 2025.
Isabella Watson is uncapped and is still only 18, and the ICC said she could be in contention for next year's Under-19 tournament.
Scotland are in Group A with Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka and the UAE.
Their first match is against Papua New Guinea on Nov. 12 at the Seven Districts Sports Club in Ajman.
The full squad is Kathryn Bryce (captain), Chloe Abel, Sarah Bryce, Darcey Carter, Priyanaz Chatterji, Gabriella Fontenla, Katherine Fraser, Kirstie Gordon, Abtaha Maqsood, Megan McColl, Hannah Rainey, Nayma Sheikh, Pippa Sproul and Isabella Watson.
The Emerging Nations Trophy is an ICC competition for associate and emerging women's teams, giving them international match experience between major tournaments.
