A heavy police presence secured the Al-Kasara neighborhood during the operation, amid a rise in home demolitions across Arab towns.

Israeli authorities demolished a house in the city of Shefa-Amr early on Monday, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

A heavy police presence surrounded the Al-Kasara neighborhood and secured the area while demolition machinery carried out the operation.

The raid came amid what the report described as an escalation in home demolitions across Arab towns.

The report noted a series of similar actions in the Galilee, the Triangle and the Negev over the past few months.

It listed recent demolitions in I'billin, Kabul, Deir al-Asad and Umm al-Fahm, as well as in Negev villages including Umm Numayla al-Ziyadna and Abu Quraynat.

Many residents have recently torn down their own homes to avoid heavy fines and the costs of state-executed demolitions, the report added.

Authorities have increasingly issued demolition orders and imposed financial penalties, and the costs of the demolition process itself can reach hundreds of thousands of shekels.

The number of homes facing the threat of demolition continues to grow, drawing criticism of government policies and calls for urban planning that upholds the right to housing and allows community expansion.

Arab towns in Israel have long complained of restrictions on planning and building permits, a concern frequently raised by residents and rights groups.

The report did not say whether the house in Shefa-Amr was occupied or whether anyone was detained during the operation.

The report presents the trend as adding financial pressure on families who face losing their homes, with penalties and demolition costs compounding the risk.
