Israeli forces carry out explosions near Nur Shams refugee camp
Local sources said the blasts sent thick smoke over the camp's western entrance, and details remain unclear because of a tight siege.
Israeli forces carried out explosions on Tuesday evening on the outskirts of the Nur Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarm, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
Local sources told WAFA that the detonations happened near the camp's western entrance and sent up thick plumes of smoke.
Local sources said the exact nature of the explosions remained unclear because of the tight siege imposed on the area.
Earlier, Israeli forces closed off the area around the destroyed Saif Abu Labdeh roundabout at the camp's western entrance, a move local sources linked to the detonation of an explosive device.
Local sources said Israeli forces have continued their aggression against Nur Shams camp for 633 consecutive days, marked by a tight siege, widespread destruction of public and private infrastructure and an influx of military reinforcements.
Local sources said residents continue to be barred from entering the camp.
Nur Shams is one of several refugee camps in the northern West Bank that have been at the center of Israeli military operations since early 2025, when Israel launched a large operation in the camps of Jenin and Tulkarm.
The operation displaced many residents from their homes, and Palestinian refugee camps in the area have faced repeated raids and restrictions since then.
