Jam Kamal Khan urges stronger trade ties among OIC states
The minister also called for better access to trade financing and coordinated efforts to expand trade within the bloc.

Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan called for stronger economic solidarity among Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states on Friday, the state broadcaster Radio Pakistan reported.
Speaking at the closing session of the 42nd Ministerial Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation in Istanbul, Khan pressed for better access to trade financing and coordinated efforts to expand trade within the bloc.
He urged member states to maintain close coordination, deepen partnerships and pursue practical initiatives that would turn joint commitments into tangible economic and development benefits for their people.
Khan thanked the government and people of Türkiye for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements for the meeting.
The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation, known as COMCEC, is an OIC body that works on trade, investment and economic projects among member countries.
The OIC, headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, groups 57 states across several continents and has long sought to increase trade among its members, which remains a relatively modest share of their overall trade.
Pakistan is a founding member of the OIC and has been seeking wider export markets in the Islamic world and beyond as it works to strengthen its trade balance.
Access to trade finance is a common concern for exporters in developing economies, where credit can determine whether firms can take on larger overseas orders.
