Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City 3-1 at the City Ground on Saturday, handing the visitors their third straight Premier League defeat, Turkey's state-run news agency Anadolu Agency reported.

Forest took the lead in the sixth minute, when Jair Cunha won the ball from Josko Gvardiol, ran forward and fired into the bottom corner past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Liam Delap, a former City striker, doubled the lead about 12 minutes later with an individual run and finish.

City struggled to find their usual attacking rhythm in the first half, with Enzo Fernandez missing a close-range header and Erling Haaland's effort cleared off the line by Cunha.

City manager Enzo Maresca brought on Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly at halftime, and Rayan Cherki pulled one back with a half-volley early in the second half.

City then pushed for an equalizer, with Haaland narrowly missing the target with a curling shot, but the space they left at the back gave Forest chances on the counterattack.

Delap completed one such counterattack late in the match with a powerful finish that hit the post and went in, making it 3-1.

The defeat leaves Manchester City six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal as the league pauses for the international break.
