Pakistan and China have launched the China-Pakistan Information Corridor in Islamabad to enhance cooperation and understanding between the two nations.

Pakistan and China have launched the China-Pakistan Information Corridor in Islamabad to enhance cooperation and understanding between the two nations, Radio Pakistan reported.
The initiative aims to bring together media organisations, think tanks, scholars, businesses, universities, and youth to promote Pakistan-China cooperation.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar said the corridor will bridge the gap between the people of Pakistan and China, fostering mutual understanding through media, information sharing, and digital platforms.
The project has four pillars: media, business and enterprise, think tanks, and culture, tourism, and youth, Tarar said.
The media pillar will enable verified news exchange between Pakistani and Chinese media organisations and establish fact-checking mechanisms to counter misinformation.
The business and enterprise pillar will promote trade and investment linkages, while the think-tank pillar will facilitate joint research, dialogue, and publications.
## Background The China-Pakistan Information Corridor is an extension of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, with the goal of strengthening people-to-people contacts and promoting a positive narrative about Pakistan-China relations.
The initiative reflects the close cooperation between Pakistan and China, with agreements already in place between news agencies, broadcasters, and film bodies for news exchange, content sharing, and co-production.
The corridor is expected to counter falsehoods with facts, isolation with exchanges, and mistrust with confidence, ultimately fostering greater cohesion and understanding between the two nations.
The launch of the corridor was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning, and Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil, among others.
The event featured documentaries and performances highlighting the historic All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China.
