Settlers and Israeli forces carry out 674 attacks on West Bank farmers
Nablus recorded the most attacks, and one Palestinian died from gunfire injuries sustained during the olive harvest.
Israeli forces and settlers carried out 674 attacks on Palestinian farmers and olive trees across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, over 37 days from Oct. 1 to Nov. 6, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said in a report.
The commission said settlers were responsible for 520 of the attacks, while Israeli forces carried out 154.
Nablus governorate recorded 230 attacks, the highest of any area, followed by Ramallah and al-Bireh with 130 and Salfit with 129.
Together, those three governorates accounted for 489 attacks, or 72.6 percent of the total.
The commission also documented 87 attacks in Hebron, 41 in Jenin, 30 in Bethlehem, 24 in Qalqilya and three in Jerusalem.
Against farmers directly, the commission recorded 249 incidents of intimidation and threats, 76 physical assaults and beatings, and 43 incidents that restricted movement or blocked access to farmland.
Other violations included detentions, gunfire, tear gas and pepper spray, and assaults on international solidarity activists and journalists accompanying farmers, the commission said.
One Palestinian died from injuries caused by settler gunfire while taking part in the harvest.
The commission said these practices often begin before farmers reach their land and continue during the harvest and when they try to transport their crops.
The commission also recorded 91 cases of olive theft, 37 incidents of equipment theft or confiscation, 20 incidents of tree damage and 18 cases in which trees were cut down or uprooted.
It estimated that about 2,974 olive trees had been damaged, while noting that figures were unavailable for some other incidents.
The commission said the attacks have risen sharply in recent harvest seasons, recording 333 in 2023, 407 in 2024, more than 441 in 2025 and 674 in the current period.
It said the 2026 figure is about 102 percent higher than 2023 and 66 percent higher than 2024, even though the current period is shorter than some earlier seasons.
The commission called for effective international intervention to protect Palestinian farmers, guarantee their safe access to farmland and hold those responsible for the attacks to account.
