Yemen's foreign minister meets community representatives in Germany
Talks covered consular services for Yemenis in Germany and the humanitarian consequences of Houthi attacks.

Yemen's Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zouba met representatives of the Yemeni community in Berlin on Friday, the news agency of Yemen's internationally recognised government Saba (Government) reported.
Yemen's Ambassador to Germany, Louay al-Eryani, attended the meeting, which addressed developments in Yemen and efforts by the ministry and diplomatic missions to present the country's positions to international partners.
The discussions also aimed to mobilize support for restoring state institutions and achieving peace.
Al-Zouba heard concerns from community members about the challenges facing Yemenis living in Germany and about the consular services provided by the embassy.
The talks also covered the community's humanitarian, cultural and media activities and its role in raising awareness of the Yemeni cause.
Participants also discussed the humanitarian consequences of Houthi militia attacks, which the community has been highlighting.
Al-Zouba said Yemeni expatriates were making valuable contributions and stressed the need for continued coordination between the ministry, the embassy and the community.
The minister also said the community should play a bigger role in strengthening relations between the Yemeni and German peoples.
The Houthis seized the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and much of the north in 2014, and the internationally recognised government has been fighting them since, with backing from a Saudi-led coalition since 2015.
Yemen's conflict has caused widespread humanitarian suffering, and diaspora communities abroad are often involved in efforts to draw international attention to it.
