Adelaide Strikers signed Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf on Monday for the entire KFC BBL|16 season, Cricket Australia said in a statement.

The 32-year-old is one of three international recruits in head coach Tim Paine's squad, alongside England's Ben Stokes and New Zealand batter Mark Chapman.

"We've got a talented group and I'm looking forward to contributing wherever I can," Rauf said in a statement.

Paine described Rauf as "a proven match-winner" who has performed at the highest level in international cricket and franchise competitions.

Paine said the club saw having all its international players available for the full tournament as a key priority during recruitment.

Rauf has played 33 Big Bash matches for Melbourne Stars since 2019, and he took an equal career-best 20 wickets last summer.

He shared the league's BKT Golden Arm award with Gurinder Sandhu, which goes to the competition's highest wicket-taker in a regular season.

This year he took 22 wickets in 19 games across the Pakistan Super League for Lahore Qalanders and Major League Cricket for San Francisco Unicorns.

He has taken 133 wickets in T20 internationals, making him Pakistan's second-highest wicket-taker in the format.

In 2024 at Adelaide Oval, he took figures of 5-29 to help Pakistan win their first ODI series on Australian soil in 22 years.

Last month he was part of Pakistan's victorious ODI tri-series squad that played England and Sri Lanka.

The Strikers have signed the maximum of three overseas players to their primary list, and they still have five spots to fill on their men's roster.

Rauf is set to make his first appearance for the BBL|07 champions on December 16 against Sydney Thunder in Canberra.

The Big Bash League is Australia's leading domestic Twenty20 competition, and franchises use overseas signings to strengthen their squads for the tournament.
