Israeli colonists carried out 397 attacks against Palestinians across the occupied West Bank in October, marking the highest monthly figure logged since 2006, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The widespread violence targeted 49 Palestinian communities across the territory. According to documentation from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 62 separate incidents occurred between October 20 and October 26 alone.
Thirty-eight of these attacks directly disrupted the seasonal olive harvest, a vital cultural tradition and economic lifeline for thousands of rural Palestinian households. Harvesters faced physical assaults, property destruction, and restricted access to their lands. During that same single week, 57 Palestinians—including nine children—sustained injuries. OCHA reported that 23 individuals were injured directly in colonist attacks, while 34 suffered injuries inflicted by Israeli forces through gunfire and physical assaults.
Background
OCHA has maintained systematic monitoring of settler and colonist violence in the West Bank since 2006.
Context
The West Bank remains a core focal point of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, long characterized by accelerating settlement expansion, land confiscations, and movement restrictions. Human rights organizations and international bodies routinely highlight these escalating attacks, warning that unresolved systemic violence and displacement threaten civilian safety and deepen the region's humanitarian crisis.
