Two Palestinians were injured in an attack by Israeli colonists while harvesting olives east of Salfit city in the occupied West Bank, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The incident occurred in Wadi al-Shaer, where a group of Israeli colonists assaulted the two Palestinians.

They were taken to Yasser Arafat Governmental Hospital in Salfit, where medical staff reported that both had sustained bruises and fractures in multiple parts of their bodies and were in moderate condition.

In a separate incident, Israeli occupation forces intervened in the al-Wajh al-Qibli area of Deir Istiya, near the colonial settlement of Revava.

They forced farmers to leave their lands and prevented them from continuing the olive harvest.

Background

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has a long history of violence and tensions, particularly in the West Bank, where Israeli settlements and colonial activities have been a major point of contention.

The olive harvest is a significant event in the Palestinian agricultural calendar, with many families relying on it as a source of income.

The Israeli occupation of the West Bank has been in place since 1967, with ongoing disputes over land ownership, settlements, and the rights of Palestinian farmers to access their land.

The situation remains volatile, with frequent incidents of violence and clashes between Israeli colonists and Palestinian farmers.
