Yemen's Public Health and Population Minister Qasim Buhaibeh discussed expanding medical services with two charities in Aden on Sunday, the news agency of Yemen's internationally recognised government Saba (Government) reported.

Buhaibeh met representatives of the Rooh Health Foundation and the Bazara'a Development Foundation, and the talks focused on strengthening cooperation and widening healthcare work across several governorates.

The discussions centred on organizing specialized cochlear implant camps and surgical camps in various medical fields, with the aim of improving access to specialized care.

In a separate meeting, the minister reviewed cooperation with the Bazara'a Development Foundation, including preparations for the 26th Bazara'a Ophthalmic Medical and Surgical Camp.

The two sides also planned surgical camps in Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa and Marib.

Buhaibeh stressed that partnerships with charitable and development organizations are important for supporting the health sector and expanding specialized medical services.

He said such cooperation should ensure that quality healthcare reaches patients, particularly the most vulnerable groups.

Yemen's health system has been under strain after years of conflict, which damaged facilities and left many people with limited access to specialized treatment.

Cochlear implants are surgical devices that can help people with severe hearing loss perceive sound, and surgical camps bring specialists and equipment to areas where such services are scarce.
